Are You Equipped For Service?

Read

“All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.”

2 Timothy 3:16-17 ESV

Reflect

Paul’s pastoral instruction to Timothy was to preach the word in times when it is popular and when it’s not popular. So why was Paul adamant that Timothy should always preach the Word of God? 2 Timothy 3:16-17 contains the answer.

Sometimes we get lost in all that these verses state. But, when condensed to their intended message, it is this, God breathes out all Scripture “…that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.”

With this in mind, it is crucial for you to be connected to a local church. But, a word of warning, the local church must be a Bible-believing and Bible-living church. In the fellowship of such a church, you will receive the instruction, encouragement, and accountability you need to grow in your relationship with Jesus Christ.

Spiritual growth is essential to effective service to our Lord. A servant of the Lord must grow spiritually. Spiritual growth equips you to serve with your complete God-given ability.

Respond

  1. Are you an active participant in a local Bible-believing and Bible-living church?
  2. If you are not an active participant in a local church, what is keeping you from it?
  3. Do you have a personal Bible reading and study plan?
